Hi.

Welcome to my blog where I document my adventures in travel, family and food. Sometimes I rant about random stuff.
Hope you have a nice stay!

Fondation Cafe - woohoo, decent coffee in Paris

Fondation Cafe - woohoo, decent coffee in Paris

27 Novembre 2016

The last time we came to France the coffee was, let's get it out there, quite shit. Michelle refused to drink it. I did but it really wasn't very good. This time around there are actual honest to goodness third wave coffee shops where you can get a decent cap or a flat white that is every bit as good as something from Melbourne's laneways. Hell, it is almost as good as in Italy.

Fondation Cafe

Which brought us to Fondation Cafe. And why wouldn't they serve a decent Aussie style coffee? One of the original owners was Australian, I believe, but has since moved on. Or they'd visited Australia? Or something? There's some Aussie connection somewhere? I understand they still have the odd Aussie barista working there but that wasn't the case when we visited. No matter though, they've learned from the best. But not only do they serve a bonza beauty mate cap they have bloody stone the crows mate crikey love a duck lamingtons. Lamingtons and cappuccinos on a freezing cold November day, in Paris. Life is good.

Is it really supposed to be below zero in November in Paris? Unfortunately Fondation is tiny so we sat at an outside table. I would sit on a block of ice in the nuddy for coffee this good though. The kids had hot chocolate.
